Whether you are an experienced yoga or wellbeing retreat leader, or it is your first time ever organising a retreat, we’d be delighted to work with you to bring your retreat to life in the frogs’ house, with its airy purpose-built studio on the top floor of the building, comfortable tastefully decorated rooms with natural materials, lush bedding and towels, and of course within the setting of this quintessentially French medieval village, overlooked by the mighty Baous! Your guests will feel like they have landed in a haven of peace from the moment of arrival.
In addition to accommodation, we offer:
Organise a retreat at the frogs’ house
A smooth retreat organising experience for you from beginning to end
The details
We run our own retreats, where our own teachers do all the teaching from mid March to mid November. We are happy to open a week in that period for your retreat, if we do not already have a booking in it. So our advice is always to start organising your retreat with us as long in advance as possible, ideally a year in advance. In the rest of the year, mid-November to mid-March of the following year, there is usually more availability in our calendar.
Our yoga studio was built to comfortably accommodate 12 people plus the teacher. On occasion we have had up to 15 + a teacher, but as you will see from this photo, with 15 mats, the participants will have little space around them which is not ideal. So we recommend keeping the numbers to a maximum of 12 + teacher(s).
You will find more information on this in the menu bar under the frogs’ house but in brief:
-
The frogs' house has 6 double bedrooms, 3 with balconies and sea views and 3 with views of the foothills of the Alps, locally called "Baou". All of these can be occupied on a single occupancy or double occupancy basis.
-
In the case of double occupancy, two of the hill view rooms only have a double bed that cannot be separated into twins. So the people sharing those two rooms will need to be happy sharing a double bed.
-
So in total the house itself can accommodate 12 people if two pairs are happy sharing a double bed each. Otherwise it can accommodate 10 people.
-
For guests beyond this number - this happens often on our own retreats - we find accommodation of a similar standard to ours in the village within a 1-5 minute walk of the frogs' house. This will be in a range: from private rooms with ensuite bathrooms in the host's flat, to full studios or apartments.
-
When you contact us, we will give you access to our pricing spreadsheet which allows you to curate and cost your own programme. We’ll be there of course if you need any help.
Our rates depend on the time of the year. We separate the year into three seasons. These are roughly
-
1 July-30 September & the two weeks around Christmas/New year - Summer/Christmas
-
Second sunday in March-30 June & 1 October - second Saturday in November - Spring/Autumn
-
Rest of the time - Winter
The seasonality only applies to the cost of the building. Everything else is the same throughout the year.
Notes on the rates/seasons:
-
In the first two seasons, from the second Sunday in March to mid-November inclusive, we accommodate retreats of 6-8 nights starting and finishing on weekend days other than when we have informed you of specific availability for a shorter duration.
-
In the rest of the year, a retreat can be for any length of time and start and finish on any day of the week.
-
The prices apply to the teacher/organiser as well as participants, but if you bring 12 guests, your stay will be free of charge, in accommodation outside the frogs’ house.
-
Minimum numbers in the different seasons are:
-
Summer/Christmas: 9 guests + teacher(s)
-
Spring/Autumn: 7 guests + teacher(s)
-
Winter: no minimum
-
-
We charge for the use of the whole building, including its fully equipped kitchen, the yoga studio, the massage & meditation room, with massage table, and the sunny terrace. This is regardless of the number of guests you bring.
-
The retreat organiser is of course at liberty to offer their guests differentiated pricing based on room views, room occupancy levels, or whether or not the accommodation is in the frogs' house or in the village.
-
Our food is based on the revered cuisine of the Provence/Mediterranean region of France, with innovations to make it accord better with our yogic principles: respect for the environment, respect for animals, etc. We don't serve any meat, poultry or seafood. We can cater for any diet that is due to an allergy, medical need or religious or ethical conviction, with enough notice.
-
In the first two seasons, from the second Sunday in March to mid-November inclusive, we only accommodate retreats where we are providing all the catering (bar the odd visit to a local restaurant of course). In the winter season the retreat leaders are welcome to bring their own chef if they wish.
-
Breakfast and brunch are always served by us.
-
For lunch and dinner you have the option of including service - we serve your guests and we clean up afterwards. You can also choose to do the service yourself.
-
We are able to provide yoga mats for all the guests and teachers. In addition we have: 10 blocks, 6 stools, and 10 blankets. If you need more than these, please ask and we will see what we can do. We can also organise gongs to be installed in the studio and bolsters to be hired at additional cost.
We are able to provide rucksacks, water bottles, and up to 6 pairs of walking sticks for excursions free of charge.
Bedding & towels, including separate swimming towels for river and sea swimming are provided, also free of charge.
We can provide an extensive array of activities: hikes with picnics in the local hills and valleys, wild swimming opportunities, horse-riding, rock climbing, zip-lining, boat trips, snorkelling, perfume making workshops in the perfumeries of Grasse, glass blowing in Biot, ceramics, bean-to-bar chocolate-making, visits to local towns, villages, beaches, art galleries and monuments, local food tours, wine-tasting, and many more… Please ask if what you want is not included in the list!
Depending on the nature of the activity, different periods of advance notice are required for us to organise it - please ask.
If you would like us to organise activities other than those listed, please let us know and we will discuss the options and prices with you.
More on this in the relevant page, but in brief, we are about 20 km from Nice Cote d'Azur airport (NCE) and it is very easy to get to us from there by public transport or taxi/Uber. We also offer an airport transfer service if required at an additional cost of 40-100 € per person depending on the group size. Nice is of course also reachable by train from Paris, Milan, Geneva, and indeed anywhere else in mainland Europe. There is also a port in Nice, so we can even be reached by boat!

Testimonials
"I brought a group of women to the retreat center and I have nothing but amazing things to say. From start to finish, Ali's communication, coordination, and attention to detail was impeccable. Benoit was a fantastic guide and facilitator for meditation and yoga. His depth and knowledge is a breath of fresh air. The rooms are cute, clean, comfortable, and have great views. The village and retreat center are the perfect setting to escape the noise and chaos of everyday life. The food was delicious: fresh, organic, and most importantly, local. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a yoga/meditation retreat."

Why ?
At the frogs’ house we organise over 30 retreats a year. We have a wealth of experience with everything it takes to create a beautiful retreat for the guests, not just when we are meeting the guests, but with all those behind the scenes details that elevate a retreat from just a good holiday to a fulfilling and even transformative experience.
We are always delighted to meet fellow yoga and wellbeing teachers, and to share and learn with them.
We know we can’t reach everyone ourselves.
So facilitating your retreats is our way of meeting you, learning from you, and spreading the teachings of yoga, and other disciplines that you practise, to a wider group of people, people we might not meet because of where we are and whom we know.
